One Day Event – Traditional Naming Ceremonies and Dance Workshop at Apatase Village (Package 8)
Traditional Naming Event Duration – 4 Hours
o Start – 10:00 AM at Apatase Village and options to pick-up guests at the West Hills Mall
Brief: – Experience Traditional Naming Ceremony for our brother and Sister from Diaspora at the Apatase Village: Explore your heritage in the Ghanaian traditional naming ceremony. This activity is designed for African Americans visiting the areas or Ghanaian. Activity includes out-dooring with a new name, selected personally for you based on the day you are born from the Ghanaian culture. The clan present to you a Ghanian cloth script and present you a certificate with your name.
Dance Workshop with Afodat/Apatase Dance Group:
Brief: – The Apatase Dance Group in collaboration with the African Foundation Dance
Theatre (AFODAT), a dance troupe based in Central Region capital town of Cape Coast put together a dance and drum workshops for Diaspora and Interested parties.
o The Adowa Dance – Akan Tribes in the Ghana
o The Agbadza Dance- Ewe Tribes from the Volta Region
o The Bamaya Dance – Dagbon States in the Northern Region
o The Borborbor Dance – Central and Northern of Volta Region
o The Kple Dance- Ga in Greater Accra Region
